To plan a slow-motion look with Seedance 2.5, describe one visible action, its direction, and how gradually it unfolds while keeping the camera instruction separate. Judge the result at normal playback first. If an otherwise usable clip needs a different running time, change its playback speed in a separate editor after downloading it. Generating slow-looking movement and retiming an existing file are different operations; neither a prompt nor a cinematic appearance proves high-frame-rate capture or export.

Decide what should actually slow down

Three shots can feel quiet for very different reasons:

Describe progress rather than piling up adjectives

Note where movement starts, where it ends, and what remains anchored. “The hem lifts into a shallow curve” is more assessable than “beautiful ultra-slow fabric.” For steam, describe continuous upward flow and gradual dispersal.

Weak prompt — teaching example:

Make a cinematic product video in extreme slow motion. Lots of flowing fabric, dramatic movement, perfectly smooth.

Improved prompt — teaching example:

The rewrite identifies the moving part, limits its travel, and anchors the garment. A cuff that snaps, loops, or detaches fails the brief. “Cinematic” alone supplies none of these boundaries.

  1. Watch the downloaded clip at normal speed. Confirm that the intended action reads clearly.
  2. Inspect its beginning, middle, and end, then scrub through suspicious transitions. Track one seam, facial landmark, or stream connection.
  3. Note the timestamp and failure. Preserve a useful original before trying a revision.
  4. If only playback pace needs changing, try a modest slowdown in your editor and review again. Retiming can reveal stutter or processing artifacts; it does not repair incorrect geometry.
  5. Check the final export, including audio timing and the cut into the next shot.

Should I write “120 fps” in the prompt? Treat such wording as a visual request, not an export setting. Verify the actual file properties if frame rate matters to your delivery.

Can a longer clip make the same action slower? It gives the action more potential room, but may instead add pauses or extra movement. Specify the intended progress and inspect what happened.

What if I need the slow section to begin on an exact music beat? Establish that timing during editing with the approved clip and soundtrack. A prompted timing request needs output verification.
